Application
Entanglement has switched over to a dressing room format for now, so applications aren't needed for the time being.
FANDOM CHARACTER APPLICATION:
ORIGINAL CHARACTER APPLICATION:
Whichever application you're posting, please put the character's name, if they're an OC, and their fandom (if any) in the subject line.
Note again that you are allowed to use musebox posts and posts on
testrun_box for your sample. In that case, your total amount of tags written will be added up, so the initial post can be shorter than normal for a sample. You're still required to use a prose format and set the sample in the game universe though.

Sephiroth (1/?)
Mun:
Your Name: Lennon
Your Journal:
Your Email: ReppaKen@gmail.com
Your AIM: FalzarStorm
Character:
Character's Name: Sephiroth
Character's Fandom: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7
Character's Home Universe: Here (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/The_Planet)
Canon Point you're taking him/her/it from: Crisis Core, around the time of the attack on Junon.
Method of Arrival on Station: Sephiroth will be joining the crew on Bohr. The Shinra Space Program discovered evidence of the ability to travel to other worlds and dispatched Sephiroth to look into it; not because they felt he was expendable, but because it was so astoundingly top-secret that they didn't trust any lesser SOLDIER with the job.
Physical Appearance: This is what he looks like (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/File:Sephiroth_Crisis_Core.jpg)
Personality: Sephiroth has basically spent his entire life in either a laboratory or the military. He was raised by people who were paid to do so and surrounded by 'peers' who were his physical and intellectual inferiors. This has had a dramatic effect on his personality. He's proud to the point of arrogance, and though he doesn't brag about it (for such is a sign of insecurity) he makes it very clear in both word and deed that he's aware of his ability. When fighting, he practically radiates the feeling that his time is being wasted. He's similarly short with people that he thinks are dumber than he is, as demonstrated by his rather blunt dismissal of Professor Hojo.
He also tends to hold other people at arms' length, socially. His cool demeanor is partly due to his upbringing; displays of emotion are a flaw in a soldier, and he's never been anything but a soldier, so he keeps a tight rein on his thoughts and feelings. Few people can tell what's going on behind those cat-like green eyes, and Sephiroth isn't inclined to tell them either. He finds it very difficult to open up to people (again, see: Upbringing), so even those people he might call 'friend' find him terribly mysterious.
This isn't to say Sephiroth is completely anti-social. Just because he doesn't make friends easily doesn't prevent him from having many acquaintances; perhaps that's the best he can hope for. He is capable of showing respect for people who prove themselves, however, such as Professor Gast...and there are a rare few people who are able to pierce through the walls Sephiroth surrounds himself with. When with people he trusts he's actually displayed a very wry sense of humor, such as identifying Genesis' LOVELESS quotes and complaining they've been beating him into his head. He's also surprisingly loyal to those friends, even when they're acting like a moron, as demonstrated by his immediate volunteering to give Genesis a blood transfusion.
Despite being literally made as a company man, Sephiroth still has a heart deep down, and he's perfectly willing to disregard company orders when it suits him. He'll let enemies run away if he believes they're misguided (instead of evil), and he's even been known to refuse orders that go against his morals (such as assassinating Genesis). Sephiroth is one of those people who believes that the strong have a duty to look out for the weak, and that's why he can't abide petty bullies like Professor Hojo. This is also what makes him a hero in spite of his many and varied personality flaws.
Re: Sephiroth (2/2)
- Sephiroth is a SOLDIER, the first of his kind. His strength, speed, and endurance are far beyond an ordinary human's; he's survived being stabbed with the Buster Sword and is able to cut through the city of Junon's main cannon in a single swing. As a side effect, his eyes glow green in faint light and his pupils narrow like a cat's when he's particularly angry.
- He's an extremely talented swordsman capable of pulling off quite a few unnatural moves (like firing waves of energy from his blade), including special moves like Octaslash (it's...pretty much exactly what it sounds like). He's also somehow able to summon Masamune out of thin air.
- He also has three mastered materia attached to his armor/weapons, which let him throw fireballs/chunks of ice/lightning bolts at enemies.
- When really pressed, like most everyone from his world, he has a Limit Break. His is called Supernova, and creates a large rapidly-expanding fireball that he can knock people into.
- On a somewhat mundane note, he is a soldier, so he's trained in using several different weapons (including his bare hands), leading troops into battle, things like that. There's a reason he held the rank of General, after all.
Sample: (At least three good sized paragraphs. Please set this within the game's multiverse. You may use NPCs or characters already in the game as foils for your character in this sample if you wish. Format is prose, either third or first person.)
The first thing Sephiroth noticed upon stepping onto Bohr wasn't the terrible smell, or even the ramshackle nature of the structure. The first thing he noticed was the palpable air of...well, greed was probably the best way to describe it. The furtive looks, the garish shops, it all reminded him quite a bit of his few visits to Wall Market. He wasn't entirely sure what to do now that his route home had collapsed on him, but he figured he would figure it out soon enough.
Somehow he managed to stride the halls unaccosted, perhaps due to the subtle aura of menace he always gave off when he was annoyed; like he knew at least sixteen ways to kill everyone in his way and only needed to pick the right one. Up ahead there was a loud squeal of metal as some kind of insect-like creature burst from its restraints, giving off a horrible multi-throated shriek and throwing its would-be handler across the corridor with such force that he dented the wall. He didn't get back up. Neither did Sephiroth break his stride.
Once the creature became aware of the SOLDIER it turned to look at him and, being either too primitive or too mad to do otherwise, it let out another shriek and charged. Sephiroth raised his hand palm-first. Once the creature was close enough a small green gem attached to the bracelet on his wrist flared up, and a shard of ice shot down from the sky with enough force to skewer the creature to the deck. He didn't even flinch at killing his first alien. He did, however, turn to address the man who suddenly approached him.
"You seem like a talented gentleman," the man said, glancing about shiftily as if expecting the very shadows themselves to leap out and grab him. "If I might have a moment of your time...?"
For the briefest of instants, Sephiroth considered the proposal. He knew this man's type. AVALANCHE supporters, Wutai remnants...they were all the same. This man too seemed like the kind of fellow who was being hunted by a much stronger enemy. And yet...it wasn't like Sephiroth was going anywhere, was he? Perhaps in time he could find a way back. "I'm listening," the general said at length.
