Application

Entanglement has switched over to a dressing room format for now, so applications aren't needed for the time being.

FANDOM CHARACTER APPLICATION:

ORIGINAL CHARACTER APPLICATION:

Whichever application you're posting, please put the character's name, if they're an OC, and their fandom (if any) in the subject line.

Note again that you are allowed to use musebox posts and posts on [livejournal.com profile] testrun_box for your sample. In that case, your total amount of tags written will be added up, so the initial post can be shorter than normal for a sample. You're still required to use a prose format and set the sample in the game universe though.

Home universe: Modern day London/ A magical realm akin to 1900 england. His country's prince has been 'kidnapped' and it is at war with a neighboring country. He lives in his castle in wastes of the country, trying his hardest to stay away from people, and the conflict as he can.-

Howl resides in two different dimension. Originally he if from 1900s London, but he was always an outcast, to unwilling to face confrontation, and constantly being henpecked by his his sister (who is often furious at him for his disappearances) he threw himself into his magic and was able to open a portal between his own world, and a strange land of magic known as Ingary.
(taken from Wikipedia:)Ingary
Most of the novel is set in a fictional monarchy, Ingary; its capital is Kingsbury. Much of South-Western Ingary is harsh wilderness referred to as "The Waste". Ingary is bordered by Strangia to the east and the Sultanates of Rashpuht to the south. Nearby is the country of High Norland; in the middle of the novel, the King of Ingary mentions that Ingary will likely go to war against both Strangia and High Norland soon.
Before the move, the castle wanders over the hills between Market Chipping and Upper Folding in the north. Howl's house is in fact based in a seaside town named Porthaven; Howl also occupies a disguised stable in Kingsbury. Chapter Eleven takes place in Wales. After the move, the castle sits at the edge of the Waste and Howl's house is moved to Sophie's childhood home in Market Chipping; they also occupy a grand but derelict mansion in Vale End (which is in the same valley as Market Chipping).

Arrival method: The portal door must have gone haywire, because Howl had intended to step out into Kingsbury, but instead when his foot cross the threshold one foot landed on metal. It was strange, so he stepped back inside, and before going back through the strange door, someone knowing there might not be any coming back, he loaded calcifer into a fire bucket, and as many of his possessions as he could pack into a trunk. HE had always looked for an escape from the war, and this was surely a good way to get out of fighting. After passing full thought the portal he knew his castle would collapse, and the door would disappear forever. No problems, he could always build another one, couldn't he?

Sample:
Howl walked down the strange hall, strutting like a peacock dispute his great uncertainty. One moment he was stating at his portal door, and when he stepped through it had not been Kingsbury he had found, but this strange, metal monstrosity. It lacked the warmth and the life the castle had, he did not shake and jar along the landscape, it's perfectly smooth movement made him uneasy. The stars stretching out in all directions outside the windows, somehow he knew this was not Ingary, or London, or even Earth, this was... well frankly the poor wizard had no idea where it was. But what he did know was that everything he needed was here with him. Even Calcifer, his hair potions, and his finest suits. So surely it could not be all bad. If only he could find a lovely young woman to explain it all, a blushing rose to sweep off her feet and into his bed. But first, he had to get Calcifer out of this bucket and into a proper fireplace, find a place to hang his suits and hats, and then, and only then, would he figure out just what he had gotten himself into. It didn't much matter to him where he was really, he hoped there would be no war for him to fight, no one to force him to use his magic in the heat of battle. That was no what magic was for after all. It was for beauty, for growing things, for soothing pain, and warming hearts. Howl only hoped he could do all these things here, and no be forced to return home, for he feared there would be no way to do that now...
