Application

Entanglement has switched over to a dressing room format for now, so applications aren't needed for the time being.

FANDOM CHARACTER APPLICATION:

ORIGINAL CHARACTER APPLICATION:

Whichever application you're posting, please put the character's name, if they're an OC, and their fandom (if any) in the subject line.

Note again that you are allowed to use musebox posts and posts on [livejournal.com profile] testrun_box for your sample. In that case, your total amount of tags written will be added up, so the initial post can be shorter than normal for a sample. You're still required to use a prose format and set the sample in the game universe though.

Urd

[identity profile] atelierjoh.livejournal.com 2010-09-13 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
As impulsive as Urd is, reflection is a major part of her personality; she's very much an introvert, and spends a lot of her time alone watching television, reading, or dabbling in her potions. She is also very obsessive-compulsive when it comes to keeping inventory of her potions and ingredients, though she's still rather lazy. She's basically only meticulous with the things she wishes to be meticulous with.

One of Urd's defining points in her personality overall is that she has pride in the fact that she's a goddess, and while she acknowledges her demon heritage, she never uses it as an excuse for her actions. She accepts full responsibility for herself and strives to improve herself as much as she can.

Abilities and Skills:
In her canon, Urd is a tenth dimensional being; she's a goddess. As such, she has superhuman abilities which are not available to most those in Dimension Three, including but not limited to superhuman strength/hardiness (she's able to take brutal physical blows with only a scratch; watch out if you make her break a nail, though). However, most of her abilities come from her License; Urd is a Goddess Second Class, Administrative License, Limited. She has a connection with the Heavenly computer system known as Yggdrasil (the computer which runs the universe), which grants her numerous abilities in the form of spell algorithms and sequences. It was once said that primitive cultures would not be able to distinguish advanced technology apart from magic; the same idea works here. Though Urd has access to spell programs and subroutines, they are all in fact highly advance computer programs run through Yggdrasil.

Now, obviously, there's the License for a reason. There are at least three classes for deity licenses, and Urd has a Second Class License. Class basically measures precision and power; Urd has power, but she rarely focuses enough to give her spells consistent precision. Not to mention that she rarely ever actually thinks through her actions anyway, but in any case... she holds an Administrative License. Now, considering that Yggdrasil isn't in Kannagara, this doesn't mean much, but as a side effect Urd is very good with computer programs including video games (not that they exist in Kannagara). It really takes no effort for her for some reason, so she could also be used as a computer or machinery operator. Restricted basically means that she may not use her abilities with impunity since she'd much rather goof off than anything else, but in any case, the only effect it has on Urd is that she's not granted immeasurable power. Which is probably a good thing, all things considered.

As mentioned, Urd is adept at spellcasting. Also stated before, these are in actuality complicated computer subroutines which are processed by Yggdrasil to give an effect similar to magic. More often than not Urd uses lightning magic ("Urd Bolt, Strike!" comes to mind) all with varying amounts of lethality, though most of the time it's shown she gives shocks to those who annoy her. Other forms of it are incantations which can more or less do anything Urd needs them to, including but not limited to placing seals, initiating warding workings, knitting a sweater... they're quite versatile, to say the least.
