Whichever application you're posting, please put the character's name, if they're an OC, and their fandom (if any) in the subject line.
Note again that you are allowed to use musebox posts and posts on
testrun_box for your sample. In that case, your total amount of tags written will be added up, so the initial post can be shorter than normal for a sample. You're still required to use a prose format and set the sample in the game universe though.

Character's Home Universe:
Victoria inhabits a world much like our own, with the same history and cultural developments. The major divergence from history occurred in the field of medical technology which developed at a much faster rate in Victoria's world, by the late 1800' working artificail limbs were the norm for people who had lost their natural arms or legs. By the current date, around 2015, technology had advanced to the point where prosthetic limbs could be connected to their owner's nervous system to allow for natural, albeit slightly delayed, movement. This level of connectivity and ease of use lead to an underground culture based around replacing living tissue with plastic or, in the case of those who seek the off beat goal of becoming a living doll, ceramic. At the moment, only arms and legs can be replaced in such a fashion, though within the body modification community there is rumor of people who have gone as far as to replace their face with a prosthetic.
Physical Appearance: Victoria was once a fairly normal looking girl, standing 5' 6'' with short blond hair and a moderate build. Since she began her “transformation” Victoria's body has taken on a very doll like appearance. Her arms and legs have been replaced by high tech prosthesis that are wired to her bodies nervous system and move and act like the real thing, however unlike most prosthetic limbs, which are made to look and feel as real as possible, Victoria's custom limbs are modeled after those of a doll; complete with ball joints and a finish that gives them the appearance of being made of ceramic or porcelain. The same can be said of Victoria's face, which has literally been cut from her body and replaced with what a mask. The mask is composed of two layers, the first being a white surface that is featureless save for holes for her eyes and mouth, her nose is completely artificial and thus Victoria possess no sense of smell. The second layer is fashioned in the manner of a normal human face though it possess the same porcelain qualities of her other replacement parts. This mask is incapable of showing any really emotion beyond what Victoria's eyes and mouth can convey and is a source of unease to those around her. To combat this effect, Victoria eventually commissioned several other outer masks that show a number of different effects to give more variety to her facial features and expressions.
The rest of Victoria's body, her torso in particular, is still that of a normal human being and thus she keeps it covered whenever possible, wearing flowing clothing that only reveal her face, arms, and legs. At the base of Victoria neck is tattooed the phrase “V-000”. This bit of ink was intended by Victoria to be a serial number, a marker to reinforce her nature as an artificial being, more a “thing” then a human. Finally, taking her doll-like appearance even further, Victoria is known to cut her hair to just below her ears, dye it black, and wear extensions that trail to the small of her back, by her own admission she believes it would be odd for a doll to have natural hair.

Background/Personality:
Victoria's youth was a time of relative normalcy, her family was fairly well off, both her father and mother work within the banking industry, thus affording the young girl anything her heart could desire. However, this also meant that she was often left alone and forced to entertain herself for hours and, on occasion, days on end. This life style led to Victoria leading a rather isolated existence with few friends. Those friends she did have came from her time at school and their friendship seemed to begin and end at the school gates. Victoria found most of her companionship from the various dolls she kept as her constant companions. Being mostly of the Victorian or Japanese style, these dolls were often the type to be wearing long flowing dresses with elegant ribbons and lace as decoration. This style would later form the foundation of Victoria's style of dress and lend itself to her vision of an ideal human being as well. Moving on, Victoria found in her dolls a something beyond comfort and an odd one sided friendship, the young girl's lonely mind saw them as an idealized form of humanity, they were forever beautiful, would never die or grow old, and, more then anything else, were in constant contact with their “master”, someone who would take care of and love them forever. Later examination of Victoria by a psychologist marks this as the beginning of Victoria's dysmorphic views of her own body, though signs of it beyond her obsessive admiration for dolls would take close for a decade to manifest themselves.
In high school, Victoria began to branch out from her self imposed isolation and began talking to other people and joined the school's sewing and art clubs, which, of course, was only to further her own knowledge of cloth making and painting, both integral elements of her doll hobby. Most of Victoria's new found friends saw her as a mere eccentric, prone to dressing strangely and talking incessantly about her hobbies. They found when she was not spouting nonsense about her hobbies that she was a fairly decent person who, deep down, just wanted to be liked by other people. However, as Victoria's out life took a turn for the better, her inner life, that of her heart, mind, and soul, began a powerful decay. No longer able to deal with her own body, seeing it as disgusting and useless, Victoria began to develop an array of bad habits that, in her mind, would somehow fix her. During this time Victoria ate very little and began avoiding going outdoors any time the sun was shining to harshly. The former because she believed she was to heavy, despite weighing a fairly normal 130lbs, and the latter because she felt that any skin tone other then a very pale white was completely unacceptable. Her destructive tendencies drew the attention of her teachers and parents who worked to have the young girl commented to a hospital for treatment. Forced to see a psychologist, Victoria was diagnosed with body dysmorphia, the constant and unshakable feeling that something was wrong with her body. After a period of observation, Victoria was deemed fit for release and was put on several medications to focus her thoughts on better things. Victoria eventually, with the medications help, eased her way back into a normal life through the rest of her stay in high school and into college.

This realization led Victoria to scour the net and other sources asking about a more permanent solution to her problem, many suggested having the joints tattooed on, though one anonymous poster simply provided a link to website not found on any search engine or directory. The site, the personal page of one Dr. Michel Rhodes, an expert on artificial limbs and other prosthetic devices. His site was filled with grotesque images of disembodied arms and legs of a startlingly realistic nature. His backstory also painted the picture of a doctor whose family had been dealing in prosthesis since the 1800s and in the current day had perfected a type of artificial limb that could be wired with a person's own nervous system, which allowed for a much more natural array of movement. The poster of the link also mysteriously left an email message that read as the following, “Ask about the good doctor's “other hobby.”
Taking the advice to mind, Victoria quickly visited Dr. Rhodes office located several cities over from her own college. The young doctor inquired to why such a healthy young lady would be so interested in his work and was met with Victoria asking about his so called “other hobbies”. With a heavy sigh, Rhodes revealed his secret hobby, on the side he acted as a artisan of doll parts and clothing, something he worked on because it served as practice for creating prosthetic limps,as it required the same techniques though in miniature. Victoria made a huge leap of logic and asked the doctor if he could create a human styled limb in the same manner of his smaller works. The doctor replied in the only way he could think of by asking why anyone would want such a thing. Victoria, in her usual brand of insanity, replied she wished to via such limbs becomes a kind of living doll. Rhodes jaw hit the floor at her response, in shock that any human being would wish for such a thing. On top of that, he mentioned, it would be unethical and against his professional oath to do such a thing, as it would be harming Victoria more then anything else.
Victoria, however, was not one to take no for an answer, she began offering higher and higher sums of money until, after hitting a number so absurd that Rhodes forced her to stop and seeing that he might be able to actually cure some of the poor girl's problems by carrying out the request agreed. The arrangement was as follows, he would replace the designated body parts, her arms and legs, for a fixed price and a promise that Victoria would work as his personal secretary for a period of two years. The first such surgery was mind numbingly difficult for the good doctor, seeing as he has to remove Victoria's arm, then attach the custom made doll limb, on top of taking great care in wiring the prosthetic to her body so that it would move properly. The ordeal took 9 hours and a powerful anesthetic to get through and left both parties exhausted. After recovering from the surgery, Victoria was thrilled to find her new limb a vision of her own ideal of porcelain perfection. In the downtime between further operations, Victoria worked part time as Rhodes assistant and resumed her college attendance, hiding her new appendage beneath long sleeve shirts and long gloves.

This leads us to the current day, with Victoria still in employ of Dr. Rhodes, content to steer people with needs of such goods to his office and continuing her college education in order to meet her goal of someday desigining human sized doll like clothing so others may engauge in the pursuit of a doll like form.
Personality: (at least two paragraphs)
Victoria is best described as a very isolated and depressed young girl. Having spent most of her youth locked in her room, having only her doll collection for company, has warped her mind in numerous ways. First, she has little social skills, tending to speak her mind regardless of the consequences of her words and has trouble connecting to people with whom she does not know much about. She has few friends because both of these facts, and those who do keep her company still see her as awkward and a bit crazy. Despite all this Victoria is rather cheery girl and tends to see the world around her through rose colored glasses, believing things to be ok unless a crisis has broken out directly in front of her face. Her youth in isolation is all known to be the origin of Victoria obsession with dolls and becoming a being of similar construct. On a deeper level, Victoria's fascination with doll's seems to stem from her intense need to be taken care of, an idea she derived from the strange notion that a doll's “master” would never leave her without good reason and otherwise would be around forever to take care of and love the doll. She also appreciated the aesthetic of a doll, believing a eternal body of ceramic and ball joints was some how superior to one of flesh and bone.
Psychologically, Victoria's mind plays host to a number of mental issues, mostly revolving around her massive body images issues and constant need for attention and contact with other human beings. To receive the attention she craves so much, Victoria will often stoop to lower and lower acts in order to have people notice her. At first she simply made grand appearances at local clubs and events, dressed in elegant home- made dresses meant to showcase her altered limbs. These appearances have made her rather popular in the body modification and doll fetish communities, with her autographed pictures, often in a number of lewd poses, going for a decent amount on internet auction sites. The fact her pictures attract such attention led Victoria to eventually opening a site devoted to herself where members could view pictures and videos of her for a fee. The constant attention from her anonymous fans online overjoys the doll-like girl and is one of the major sources of joy in her life.
Victoria Carter | OC 5/5
Though she has no super-human powers, Victoria is a very capable seamstress and has a mild talent for working with ceramics and other materials used in the manufacturing of dolls. This knowledge is often used to restore any damage that her artificial limbs may have sustained from day to day life. Though heavier damage can only be repaired by someone with high level of engineering and medical knowledge to restore her limbs if they would ever sustained major damage.
Sample:
Victoria lay on a bed in the station's operating room, the rigor of daily life in such a harsh environment had taken its toll on a girl whose former life consisted of parties and secretarial work. Her limbs had long fallen into disrepair, everything from her ball joints to the paper thin wires connecting the entire system to her nervous system seemed to have been damaged, torn up, or covered in some kind of horrible substance. Somehow, despite the seriousness of the situation, all of this brought a smile to her nearly emotionless face, damage meant someone had to repair her limbs and as such pay attention to her. For a moment, as the bearded old engineer gazed over her body, Victoria's mind and body were in perfect harmony, warped by forces both mental and physical into a twisted mockery of the human condition. Despite the horrid state of her body and mind, she continues smiling, gently speaking to the old man looking her over as if nothing was wrong.
“While your at it, could you clean out my joints? It's been ages since they've had a good scrub down.”
Her voice trailed off as she ended her sentence, falling into a gentle sleep. The world around her fading to black and replaced by dream and visions of things fantastic and mundane, mostly concerning dolls and related matters. Slowly she woke up, to the feeling something was wrong or more correctly missing. A quick survey of her surroundings provided a startlingly answer, her arms and legs had been lifted wholesale from her body. Despite the attention it attracted it was enough to make even Victoria panic. “What have you done with my body, you crazy old man!” The engineer took a moment to point to her missing limbs piled onto a nearby table, awaiting maintenance, he explained it would be easier then working with them attached to her torso. Victoria answered with begrudging silence, their was nothing she could do, for the moment she was at the world's mercy. Despite her love of dolls and need to be taken care of, it was not a feeling she liked. With no options left to her, the maiden of porcelain and flesh tried to resume her former state of slumber and forget her current predicament.
Slumber, it seemed, was out of the option, the strange phantom state of her missing limbs was enough to prevent any state of sleep for the time being. Thus Victoria laid back and watched as each of her limbs was slowly cleaned, chipped parts smoothed over, and then, albeit slowly, rewired to her body. It was a painstaking process and difficult to watch, clenched teeth and shut eyes were a natural response to the sight. Working through the unsightly nature of her own body, the process eventually came to an end, a massive sigh of relief emitted from Victoria's mouth. Her arms and legs were as clean and polished at the day they were crafted, with a flowing movement she attempted to move her restored appendages, flailing in a grandiose manner. Everything was fluid and graceful, as it should be, but still something was wrong, her arms seemed to have been, Reversed for lack of a better term Left was right and right left, her arms had been attached to the wrong side of her body! Victoria wanted to scream, but she had little energy for such things, she simply laid down upon the table once again and pointed a trembling finger at the engineering staff, “Fix this... Now.”
