Application
Entanglement has switched over to a dressing room format for now, so applications aren't needed for the time being.
FANDOM CHARACTER APPLICATION:
ORIGINAL CHARACTER APPLICATION:
Whichever application you're posting, please put the character's name, if they're an OC, and their fandom (if any) in the subject line.
Note again that you are allowed to use musebox posts and posts on
testrun_box for your sample. In that case, your total amount of tags written will be added up, so the initial post can be shorter than normal for a sample. You're still required to use a prose format and set the sample in the game universe though.

Iwasawa 1/2
Your Name: Prof
Your Journal:
Your Email: kobuscrispi [at] gmail [dot] com
Your AIM: ZebulonCrispi
Character:
Character's Name: Iwasawa
Character's Fandom: Angel Beats!
Character's Home Universe:
While it is never given a name, Iwasawa's world is an afterlife of Earth. It appears similar to a high school from Earth, but most of the people are semi-mindless NPCs that only passively react to the world around them, otherwise acting like normal students and teachers. The one known exception to this is Angel, who looks like a student, but uses a variety of supernatural weapons and abilities to fight the non-NPC inhabitants of the school, with the goal of obliterating them.
Outside of the wrath of Angel, nobody can die in this world. People who are killed come back to life unharmed a few minutes later. Also, people there have the ability to convert raw materials into objects, so long as they know what the objects are composed of. Also, if someone accepts their fate as a deceased person, they vanish from the world, so the only people there are those who choose to fight against God.

Iwasawa 2/3
Iwasawa is very relaxed most of the time. She's slow to provoke and quick to smile, without being particularly high-energy either way. She has a lot of bad experiences and heartbreaks in her past, but is also acutely aware that the people around her also have it rough, so she puts on a smiling face regardless, seeing it as the best thing she can do both for her friends and for herself. Ultimately, though, she's aware that just keeping your spirits up is far from enough. That's where her music comes in.
Iwasawa loves music. When she was younger, she was living under an abusive marriage with nowhere to escape to. Music became her escape. Accordingly, she became a musician, resolving to live by her music, without relying on her parents for support. She plays partially for the sheer joy of it, and partially because, as she was saved by music, she wants to return the favor by saving someone else with her own.
As such, music is the one thing that Iwasawa shows serious emotion about. She pours her heart into every performance, singing with a fervor she never shows in normal conversation. She gets very defensive about her instruments, particularly her backup guitar. It's not as good as the one she uses in performances, but she keeps it as a keepsake of when she first became a musician. Thus, as a symbol, it is more or less her most prized possession, and woe betide anyone who tries to do anything to it.
Abilities and Skills:
Outside of the afterlife, Iwasawa possesses no unusual abilities. She is, however, a decent guitarist and very good singer.
Iwasawa 3/3: Electric Boogaloo

"I hear there's another job coming up. Heavy stealth stuff, lots of people to slip past. Sounds like you could use a distraction. How about GDM and I throwing an impromptu concert together? That'd turn some heads. It's worked pretty well in the past, too."
Sheeana slowly considers the proposal, leaning back against the bulkhead and crossing her slender legs.
"Alright. Public disorder would be helpful." She thinks for a second. Musicians often go to the kind of ecstatic state she's interested in, eyes focused elsewhere, fully immersed in their rythms. "How do you feel when you play?" A question out of the blue, but she feels they've known each other long enough for it.
"How do I feel?" Iwasawa leans against the opposite wall, looking upwards at nothing in particular, trying to get into the mindset of what it's like at a concert. The roar of the crowd. The weight of the guitar in her hands. The sweat on her face. The emotions of the song pouring through her.
"It's like... I'm not sure how to put it into words." She smiled apologetically. "It makes me feel like I can make a difference, even in a universe this big."
"Multiverse." Sheeana snarkily corrects. Hopefully Iwasawa is used to this behavior in her because it's not going away any time soon. "I feel the same when i'm dancing with my worms."
"Multiverse." It'll take more than a bit of snark to get under Iwasawa's skin. "I can see how it'd be similar. Worm dancing, music... it's art, either way. Both can have the same effect on someone. I was saved by music once, and I want to give that gift back to the world."
A soft chuckle. "And keeping people distracted while the rest of you do the proper good deeds isn't so bad, either."
"Don't cut yourself down like that. That's my job." She considered the right way to phrase this. "Iwasawa, we are fighting a war for the hearts and minds of the multiverse. Musical talent is more important than physical power." She chuckled softly. "Most of my Sisters distrusted music, you know. It tended to lead to uncontrollable emotions."
Unexpectedly, Iwasawa found herself smiling at that last comment. It just seemed so weird.
"What kind of reason is that? You can't really feel emotions if you try to control them." She looked at Sheeana as she spoke, vaguely wondering if she was pushing any cultural boundaries. "The best thing about the arts is letting yourself get lost in your own heart."
"Exactly." Sheeana shook her head slowly. It wasn't far off. The Bene Gesserit weren't a culture unto themselves, but meddlers in the cultures of others. "Most of my order believes emotions are a hindrance to our duties. Those of us who disagree are Heretics. Surely there are those with similar ideas where you come from?"
"Well..." It came as a bit of a surprise to her that when prompted about 'where you come from,' she thought of the afterlife before she thought of Earth. "There are definitely people there who prefered order over passion, but for the most part, life was pretty simple. Keep on playing music. Keep up the fight against Angel or disappear."
