Character's Name: Victoria Carter Character's Fandom: OC Character's Home Universe: Victoria inhabits a world much like our own, with the same history and cultural developments. The major divergence from history occurred in the field of medical technology which developed at a much faster rate in Victoria's world, by the late 1800' working artificail limbs were the norm for people who had lost their natural arms or legs. By the current date, around 2015, technology had advanced to the point where prosthetic limbs could be connected to their owner's nervous system to allow for natural, albeit slightly delayed, movement. This level of connectivity and ease of use lead to an underground culture based around replacing living tissue with plastic or, in the case of those who seek the off beat goal of becoming a living doll, ceramic. At the moment, only arms and legs can be replaced in such a fashion, though within the body modification community there is rumor of people who have gone as far as to replace their face with a prosthetic.
Physical Appearance: Victoria was once a fairly normal looking girl, standing 5' 6'' with short blond hair and a moderate build. Since she began her “transformation” Victoria's body has taken on a very doll like appearance. Her arms and legs have been replaced by high tech prosthesis that are wired to her bodies nervous system and move and act like the real thing, however unlike most prosthetic limbs, which are made to look and feel as real as possible, Victoria's custom limbs are modeled after those of a doll; complete with ball joints and a finish that gives them the appearance of being made of ceramic or porcelain. The same can be said of Victoria's face, which has literally been cut from her body and replaced with what a mask. The mask is composed of two layers, the first being a white surface that is featureless save for holes for her eyes and mouth, her nose is completely artificial and thus Victoria possess no sense of smell. The second layer is fashioned in the manner of a normal human face though it possess the same porcelain qualities of her other replacement parts. This mask is incapable of showing any really emotion beyond what Victoria's eyes and mouth can convey and is a source of unease to those around her. To combat this effect, Victoria eventually commissioned several other outer masks that show a number of different effects to give more variety to her facial features and expressions.
The rest of Victoria's body, her torso in particular, is still that of a normal human being and thus she keeps it covered whenever possible, wearing flowing clothing that only reveal her face, arms, and legs. At the base of Victoria neck is tattooed the phrase “V-000”. This bit of ink was intended by Victoria to be a serial number, a marker to reinforce her nature as an artificial being, more a “thing” then a human. Finally, taking her doll-like appearance even further, Victoria is known to cut her hair to just below her ears, dye it black, and wear extensions that trail to the small of her back, by her own admission she believes it would be odd for a doll to have natural hair.
