Personality: Had Elloran lead a “normal” life he would have likely grown up to be an insulated, caring youth of the kind that would take in lost animals and care about social justice. Since he became an Inquestor instead, his life took a different turn. Being an Inquestor defines who he is; it constrains his friendships and delineates his actions. Though thoughtful and passionate by nature, the Inquestoral protocols force Elloran into repressing his emotions and hiding them from others. Deeply concerned about the human condition, the Inquest placed him in a position where he is expected to destroy entire planets without remorse. By nature a man who appreciates art and truth, the Inquest strips him of the power to ever create anything himself and surrounds him with servants he can never completely trust.
The result? Elloran tries his best to hide his emotions and put up a good front, while secretly angsting over the destruction he knows he must endorse. He drowns himself in music and art partially because he finds the truth, joy and beauty in it that he is denied in all other facets of his life. Outwardly he is a calm man who can come off as rather callous (he thinks on a scale not familiar to most people. To him, the destruction of an entire world is hardly worth noticing.) For the same reasons, he often can be seen as arrogant or naïve; he lives in a world where his every demand is met and adapting to a place where that is no longer the case will be difficult for him (but well worth the effort, once he realizes that he is no longer encumbered by Inquestoral dogma and might be able to have real relationships with people.) Yet, despite all of his flaws, Elloran does care deeply about the people around him and this shows through, despite the constraints upon his ability to articulate it. Within his home universe he is well loved by most who meet him, and he makes a point to listen and understand those around him. In the time he is taken from in his canon he has not yet perfected that skill, but even then his charisma and compassion are difficult to deny. One merely must ignore the fact that his compassion leads him to destroy whole solar systems in an attempt to keep all of humanity functioning.
Abilities and Skills: Elloran is a “normal” human in that he has no special super-human powers. He cannot call upon magic nor is he particularly athletic. He has no special knowledge; his power is all situational. Yet he has been trained since a young age to be a leader. He appears confident and is very intelligent. He is kind and a good listener…all qualities that lead others to follow him. He has extreme control over his emotions and his thought processes, meaning that – though he cannot perform “magic” without a thinkhive backing him up – he would be able to defend himself against non-physical attacks, given that the power of one’s mind and convictions is what determines non-physical power in the hub-verse.
