Character's Name: Russia (Ivan Braginski) Character's Fandom: Axis Powers Hetalia Character's Home Universe: In this universe, it is very similar to real life. There is really only one major difference. The countries of the world have a personification. The people who know are the leaders of the world, and other higher-ups who need to know. Method of Arrival on Station: He got snatched by that dimensional machine thing. Otherwise, he’d be at home, making borsch for his subordinates. Personality: On the surface, Ivan is a calm man with a polite cheer about him. He always wears a calm, polite smile. Everything about his demeanor is calm and serene, yet there is a subtle feeling of something not quite right about him. There is just something about him that is slightly intimidating, like a predator calmly waiting for its prey to make a wrong move. Ivan has a patient attitude toward others, and it takes quite a bit to get him worked up. He is almost like snow, soft and chilly, normally. However, when angry he is more like a glacier, hard and cold, but still frustratingly calm and as polite as always.
Beneath the surface lies something darker. The events of his past cracked his sanity, and it grew progressively worse after the Russian Revolution in particular. This insanity is subtle in modern time. Ivan’s reaction to those suffering is usually one of scarily calm, almost as if he’s used to watching the same thing happening to others. He has no trouble killing others, and is incredibly sadistic to those he feels should suffer more. The portrayal of his sadistic attitude is that of childish innocence and fascination at the person’s pain. However, his sadism is not overt, and prefers to cause suffering behind closed doors with many dangerous objects.
Everything about Ivan is subtle, even the pain of his past. He never talks about the Russian Revolution, and will become very angry toward those who mention it to him. He is also protective of his two sisters, even if one of them scares him more than anything the universe can throw at him. Ivan loves them both, his scarf being a prime example of his love toward them. His older sister made his scarf, and since then he is never seen without it.
