Abilities and Skills: Aya carries three items on her at all times. The first is a Tengu notebook known as Bunkachou which has gathered innumerable photographs of Danmaku battles and cute girls of Gensokyo along with handwritten notes, all interesting observations for her Bunbunmaru Newspaper. She also always has her camera strapped to her shoulder, taking pictures of whatever she finds interesting or usable for her newspaper. She also always has a Tengu fan on her person which is able to summon wind, from light breezes to the immense.
In the realm of abilities and powers, Aya is a very very powerful Tengu. She is, without a doubt, the fastest creature alive in Gensokyo. She is able to break the sound barrier with ease, and other Youkai are rarely, if ever, able to even touch her. Beyond that, Aya also has the ability to manipulate the wind, and is able to hear things from a great distance.
Aside from her Tengu-specific abilities, she has all the abilities a Youkai of Gensokyo is expected to have. She can fly, and she has an extremely resilient and ancient Youkai body, something that is difficult to damage and/or kill by normal means. She is also able to fire magical orbs of concussive energy typically called Danmaku. They are not lethal by nature, but they travel at the speeds of a bullet fired from a gun and can deliver quite the beating if you are hit by enough of them...and literally hundreds of them can be fired at a time.
Aya also has a few Spell Cards at her disposal, ones that are able to produce insane amounts of Danmaku and Typhoon-level winds. These spell cards are used sparingly, since Aya is not one to get into fights.

[From the Bunkachou(notebook) of Aya Shameimaru, Intrepid Reporter for the Bunbunmaru.]
Courageous reporter, Aya Shameimaru, has bravely set out on an adventure to find the ultimate truth this day! It seems only a short time ago that I had been contacted by a mysterious agent of what I can only assume is a resistance against a horrible, tyrannical government that stretches across the stars! Unfortunately, I have not been told much yet, but I have made a vow to myself to leave my own home and investigate such an incredible claim!
After a long trip, I now find myself on what is referred to as a "Station." I can look from a viewing window to see nothing but the stars spread out before me like the open sea...no beginning, no end. As I scan the contents of this "Station," I feel a profound sense of desperation and barely controlled panic from the residents. They walk listlessly, their lives seemingly shattered by what I can only guess must be this evil Empire. This "Station" itself seems to be in horrible disrepair. There are mountains of what I can only assume is junk scattered everywhere, some of it being picked at by various creatures. I cannot imagine what hope this Resistance has, but it must be something, or else they would have likely given up long ago.
[Various rough sketches of the people and places within the JunkStation are found on the next few pages, with barely legible notes written around each one.]
Why would I [horribly scratched out text]. Why would an intrepid reporter such as myself risk life and limb to come to a place that has nothing to do with my world, you may ask? As a seeker of Truth, I cannot sit idly by while a world connected to our own Gensokyo is currently in a war which may stretch across our Hakurei Border! I do this not for myself, but for every resident of Gensokyo! I will uncover the truth, and bring the news before destruction meets our land! (This part is really good, it's going straight into the article. Have to remember to find better words to display bravery and the quest for truth. Maybe throw in something about the wickedness of this "Empire" when I learn more about it so people will be more interested in reading...or maybe a flip story if I find out I've ended up on the wrong side.)
(Note to self, find someone with war stories for an article later.)
(Also find out if pictures can be developed somewhere on this...station...thing.)
